What I Love Coming Home To

I really want to take the time & give some love to two little boys who have such a special spot in my heart. Meet the loves of my life: Marty & Henry.  Nothing makes me happier than coming home after a stressful day & having these faces to greet me at the door.


We got Marty (2) first and he was the best first dog I could of asked for. He was so calm, well behaved (besides the eating of the shoes), smart & just wanted to be loved. When I found out Marty's parents had more puppies a year later I obviously had to have another . .so along came Henry (1) he is COMPLETELY different than Marty lol ( of course I'm thinking . .o they'll be exactly alike.. nope ) he has so much energy, gets into everything and craves attention every second of everyday_ he can never be close enough. They just make me laugh and I love them so much. 

So Marty & Henry . .thanks for putting up with us trying to run a business the past 2years along with completely transforming your  home into a storage unit with all our vintage inventory. . you'll have your house back soon _ even though I know you won't ever give us our bed back. . 

The Rewards of Hunting

I just have to say I have been searching high and low for a very specific chair I was asked about for a future wedding. (future as in May 14.. not much time) I never ever like to say no so of course I said "suure I'll be able to get those for you .. in the appropriate color for the wedding! No problem" I had a back-up plan in my head (buying them from a store) but I really really didn't want to result to that because I felt like I wouldn't be staying true to what this business is about. Jason and I spent 3 weeks driving from antique store to flea market.. thrift store... barns... no luck. Finally, an auction in my own backyard had two sets that I desperately needed to get my hands on (at least one set.. but obviously I wanted both) So last night was the big night. Not only was I nervous about simply being the highest (with staying in my price range) bidder but Jason couldn't even be there to stop me if I started to go over my limit. It could get dangerous when I really want something. . then he'd have to deal with me being devastated for days about it. ANYWAY I won one of the two sets and I'm thrilled ! I have my upholster ready to go I'm just waiting for my fabric samples to arrive so I can make my final decision =) 


So in the end I'm glad we stayed true to what we love about this business. The hunt to provide unique finds. . it's so rewarding in the end.

My soon to be ivory, cream, natural chairs ! I've been celebrating since the auction ended last night.

Now I need everyone's help ! I'm not too experienced when it comes to upholstery fabric and I want to make sure I'm picking something durable, easy (easier) to clean and of course in the color I want. This is what I ordered samples of:

Lucky Weekend

Over the weekend Jason and I traveled to Quakertown, PA in search of . . well whatever we could find. We struck out at our first four stops, almost losing hope when we randomly passed by an old barn with a lot of good looking junk out front. It wasn't long before the lady in charge took us to two different barns allowing us to pull out whatever we wanted_it was amazing ! We came home with 23 chairs this weekend =)

New Seats

Jason and his friend Joe made some new seats for our green metal foldings chairs out of old barn wood Joe had laying around. Couldn't be happier with them!

Créme de la Créme

I've been wanting to do this color palette for a long time and it makes me so happy to be able to create it with all our own findings _ definitely one of my favorite palettes. { I can't stop staring }

Busy Busy!!
